Apartmnent Tea is located at the most beautiful part of Croatia, at the very heart of Gorski Kotar and Risnjak massif. Risnjak is one of the Croatian national parks.

National park Risnjak has been founded at 1953. by the initiative of the Croatian biologists and the scientists who have seen the need of preservation of this part of Gorski Kotar and the Risnjak massif.
The forests of this area were one of the primar reasons of it's foundation because they make more than 2/3 of the park area which has the status of strict reservation.
Total size that the NP Risnjak covers is
3.198 ha (cca. 63 km2), which is the biggest part of Risnjak massif. Thanks to it's complex geological build Risnjak has grown many biological species. One of the most popular is the endemic flower «runolist».
It has numerous and unexplored caves, wells and chasms which make Risnjak a true paradise for biologists and speleologists.
Risnjak is a natural habitation of many protected wild animals and the most popular surely are the Grey bear, wolf and Lynx which when translated in Croatian gives the source of it's name (Lynx > Ris > Risnjak). It is also a home for more than 60 birds species.
The top of the massif (Veliki Risnjak) is
1528 m above the sea level. Many find it as the one of the most beautiful peaks at this part of the Europe and can be reached by several hiking tracks (Horvatova staza, Leska...).
The peak Snježnik (1506 above the sea) is also one of the Risnjak's specialties. The main entrance to it is a hiking track from the Platak direction and when reached gives a breathtaking view at all four sides of the world. It's made of the unique white stone.
We can surely recomend a visit to the river Kupa spring which is stunning 50m wide well with unexplored abyss. It lies under the western side of Risnjak massif and is probably the biggest well in Croatia.
